The quality scuba instruction that you receive from Scuba Diversions is of the highest caliber.
Master Diver Kevin Gonzalez has taught thousands of people in both NAUI and PADI scuba diving certifications since 1975. His
professional expertise is what you want when you are looking for scuba diving classes for basic, advanced, and
other scuba diver certification training.
Our scuba diving classes give you the most benefit for your time and money. While many other
places of instruction provide you with only one week or two weekends of combined classroom and pool training,
Scuba Diversions has the care and dedication to provide you with four weeks of scuba diver training
- four sessions for classroom knowledge and four sessions
in the pool for scuba skills training, as we have done so for over 30 years! We
then finish the class with four separate scuba dives in the nearby natural Florida springs, before you are ready
for the open ocean and other diving. Our low pricing includes all class materials and scuba equipment.
Your scuba diving experience, and your
continued enjoyment of the sport will be directly
related to the quality of training. Scuba divers are using life safety equipment, and diving in a variety
of underwater environments and conditions. While scuba diving is exciting and fun it is necessary
to participate in quality training, and to train with your focus and attention, because you will
react and perform according to how you train. You must realize that the results of any problems in diving may range
from personal embarrassment, to minor injury, and all the way up to death. Thorough,
and quality training is the best way to avoid problems. By participating in quality training you'll
have the knowledge and skills to operate safely, and to solve problems in the event they should
occur. Your instructor should instill a sense of confidence in you.
SCUBA DIVER $349.95 Scuba Diversions is the lowest price for the Complete Four Week Course!
The scuba diver course is designed to give you the entry level knowledge and skills to operate safely in the
underwater environment. The scuba diver course includes thorough classroom training for knowledge and understanding,
thorough pool training for hands-on familiarity and practical skills, and actual experience out of the pool -
preparing you for scuba diving in the open water environment. This training is the first of a series of courses
that allow you to gain more in scuba knowledge and skills to operate safely in a variety of conditions and activities.
NITROX DIVER
Nitrox certification is the next logical choice for new divers. Like compressed air, nitrox is a breathing mixture
consisting of oxygen and nitrogen, however the oxygen percentage is increased from 21% (which is the normal percentage
in air) to oxygen amounts that are usually in the 32% to 36% range. Nitrox offers several safety advantages, primarily
reduction of risk of decompression sickness and reduced effects of nitrogen narcosis. This certification program provides
the essential knowledge that is necessary to use nitrox safely.
ADVANCED SCUBA DIVER
The primary purpose of the advanced diver program is to give new divers the increased knowledge and practical
experience of a variety of different circumstances and diving environments. It is also beneficial for experienced,
basic scuba certified divers to gain greater knowledge and skill for these different circumstances and environments.
In this advanced certification training, you will complete a minimum of six different open water dives, of which
three of these separate dives are for navigation, night or low visibility diving,
and deep diving (130 feet/40 meters maximum depth). The other three dives may include any of the
following variety:
- Boat diving
- Shore diving
- Altitude diving
- Diving in ocean surf or water currents
- Using dive computers
- Diving for photos or video
- Observation and data collection
- Hunting and collecting
- Search and recovery – light salvage
- Exploration and underwater mapping
- Wreck diving (non-penetration)
MASTER SCUBA DIVER
The master scuba diver certification program allows you to gain more in-depth knowledge and increase your diving
skills to the level of a professional leader in scuba diving. You will take part in open water dives in settings that
will test your abilities to their limit, while expanding and enhancing your diving capabilities. Emphasis is on
student participation and practical application of knowledge in open water after a classroom discussion of a variety
of subjects.
Subject areas are a review and expansion of material from previous courses. Each subject area is a progression in
study, not a definitive study in the particular diving activity. Course instructors will specify the performance
objectives for the related course diving activities, for example, during a navigation dive the student will swim a
reciprocal course to within 10 feet (3 meters) of its starting point. This program is designed for in-depth knowledge
and increased skills.
The course activity subjects may be divided and taught in sections to allow for the student's Diving/Training Log
to be signed off when all of the requirements for each activity are met. Upon successful completion of the master
scuba diver course, graduates are considered competent to engage in open water diving activities without
supervision, provided that the diving activities and the areas of diving are similar environments and conditions to
those of their training.
A minimum of eight different open water dives are required. A maximum of three dives per day shall be applied toward
course requirements. No more than one skin dive may count toward the eight dive minimum. Students shall furnish and be
responsible for the maintenance and care of their own diving equipment. The instructor shall initially assist the
student in checking all student gear to insure it is adequate and in proper working order.
